It works well when fishing a sliding rig on the mainline, allowing the rig to be cast conventionally with the float making it rise through the water column once cast out, or to make the rig stand up vertically to fish multiple depths. These ultra-buoyant floats are also suitable for popping up bigger baits for fish that are feeding just off the bottom. In freshwater, they can be used to pop-up big fish baits for pike and zander in the winter.
